• Location: Urbana, IL 61801 – Thriving college town with excellent amenities, cultural attractions, and outdoor recreation\n
• Healthcare Setting: Level 3+ NICU, Trauma 1 Center\n
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing\n
• Start Date: December 29, 2025\n
• End Date: March 28, 2026\n
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks\n
• Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM\n
• Hours per Week: 36 (3x12 hour shifts)\n
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week\n
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,360 - $2,420\n

\n\nNICU Registered Nurse Qualifications\n

\n
• 3-5 years of recent NICU nursing experience in a Level 3 or higher Neonatal Intensive Care Unit\n
• Experience working in a Trauma 1 healthcare center\n
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR systems\n
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred\n
• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing\n
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification – American Heart Association\n
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification – American Heart Association\n

\n\nNICU RN Responsibilities\n

\n
• Deliver comprehensive neonatal nursing care in accordance with NICU and hospital standards\n
• Apply evidence-based procedures and nursing theories specific to neonatal and pediatric care\n
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of all nursing interventions and patient progress\n
• Conduct initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans for neonates\n
• Continuously evaluate and adjust care plans based on patient needs and clinical findings\n
• Monitor intake and output, and provide critical support for neonatal patients\n
• Support mothers with breastfeeding initiation and promote baby-friendly care practices\n
• Administer medications safely using bar code scanning technology\n
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and communicate patient status effectively\n
• Promote a culture of safety by identifying and reporting hazards in the clinical environment\n
• Collaborate with healthcare team members and provide constructive feedback\n
• Engage in ongoing professional development and fulfill all departmental competency requirements\n
