Position – Coder Inpatient II (Remote)

Contract – 6 Months with a possibility of extension

Job Summary:

The Coder Inpatient II (remote role) assigns accurate ICD diagnosis, procedure codes, and MS-DRGs for a variety of inpatient services at the Hospital, including complex trauma and critical care cases. Responsibilities include coding across multiple specialties, querying physicians for documentation, collaborating with clinical documentation specialists, and maintaining a 95% coding accuracy rate while meeting productivity standards. This role requires strong communication, adaptability, and the ability to work independently, ensuring coding accuracy that supports hospital financial, quality, and compliance initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience:

• -A minimum of one (1) year of recent experience at an academic medical center in inpatient coding. OR
• -Three (3) years of recent hospital inpatient coding experience.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• -A minimum of three (3) years of experience as an inpatient coder at an academic facility.

Education :

Required Education : -Coding Certificate Program Completion or Associate Degree in HIM or equivalent.

Preferred Education: -Bachelor's degree in HIM or equivalent.

Required Certifications & Licensure: -Certified RHIA/RHIT or CCS.
