LanceSoft is seeking a local contract Outpatient Substance Use Counselor Level I for a local contract job in Abingdon, Virginia.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a licensed Behavioural Health Counsellor to join our multidisciplinary treatment team. This role provides comprehensive clinical services to individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. The ideal candidate will have experience in assessment, treatment planning, and evidence-based interventions, as well as strong documentation and communication skills.

 

Requirements:

• Education: Master’s degree in social work, Professional Counselling, or related clinical field.

• Licensure: Must hold an active license with an independent scope of practice in VA. (or) Should be a C-SAC in Residency (Will work too) 

  VA: C-SAC, C-SAC (in Residency), LCSW, LPC, LSATP, LMFT, Licensed PsyD

• Experience: Clinical experience with individuals experiencing substance use and co-occurring disorders.
• Certifications: Maintain appropriate state licensure; comply with applicable federal and state regulations.
• Ethics: Adherence to NAADAC and respective professional Code of Ethics.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct clinical assessments using ASAM criteria and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Deliver therapeutic services and crisis intervention.
• Coordinate care and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
• Stay informed on local drug trends, addiction science, and community resources.

Special Considerations:
Knowledge of addiction treatment models, overdose response, and the psychosocial impacts of substance use is essential.

Accepting C-SAC in Residency applicants too.
