Build the supply chain for humanoid robots. At 1X, were designing intelligent, safe humanoid robots to address the worlds labor shortagesstarting in the home and scaling globally. We design and build every part of our robots in-house, combining engineering, manufacturing, and AI under one roof.

At 1X youll build and scale global supply chains for next-generation humanoidsfrom frames to enclosuresowning sourcing for structural components including castings, extrusions, sheet metal, and composites. Your work will directly enable the safe, reliable delivery of thousands of humanoids, solving some of the hardest problems in robotics.

What Youll Do

• Define and execute end-to-end sourcing strategies for structural components (metals, plastics & composites), including supplier benchmarking and performance management
• Identify, qualify & onboard global suppliers that meet cost, quality & delivery targets; negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms
• Partner with Engineering & Manufacturing on DFM reviews, ensuring mechanical and cosmetic specifications are met and seamlessly integrated into production
• Drive cost-optimization & risk-mitigation through alternate sourcing, diversification, and continuous supplier improvement
• Manage supplier compliance via audits, performance metrics, and corrective-action programs
• Stay ahead of market trends by monitoring material science developments, pricing shifts, and new entrants
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, and Finance to scale supply-chain capabilities and support overall business goals

What You Bring

• Proven experience in sourcing or procurement of structural parts, castings, sheet metal, or composite materials
• Strong technical understanding of structural design principles and associated manufacturing methods
• Excellent negotiation skills and a track record of managing supplier relationships
• Experience conducting supplier audits and driving corrective actions
• Familiarity with ERP systems and sourcing tools (NetSuite a plus)
• Data-driven approach to problem-solving and cost analysis
• Outstanding communication skills and cross-functional collaboration experience
• Mandarin Chinese proficiency is a plus
