About the Role:

The CDL A Driver position at the Spartanburg Plant, 0032, is a critical role responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods and materials to and from the facility. This role ensures timely delivery while adhering to all federal, state, and company regulations governing commercial vehicle operation. The driver will be instrumental in maintaining the supply chain flow, supporting production schedules, and meeting customer expectations. Attention to vehicle maintenance and safety protocols is essential to minimize downtime and prevent accidents. Ultimately, this position contributes directly to the operational success and reputation of the Spartanburg Plant by providing reliable and professional transportation services.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid CDL Class A driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating commercial vehicles, preferably in a similar industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and compliance requirements.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background checks.
• Physical ability to perform vehicle inspections and handle loading/unloading tasks as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with GPS and electronic logging devices (ELDs).
• Familiarity with Spartanburg Plant operations or similar manufacturing logistics.
• Additional endorsements such as HazMat, Tanker, or Doubles/Triples.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage unexpected delays or route changes.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-service oriented mindset.

Responsibilities:

• Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently to transport materials between the Spartanburg Plant and designated locations.
• Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
• Maintain accurate logs of working hours, vehicle inspections, and delivery records in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and management to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues.
• Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies to ensure the safety of cargo, vehicle, and personnel.

Skills:

The CDL A Driver will utilize their driving skills daily to navigate routes safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries. Knowledge of DOT regulations and vehicle maintenance is applied to conduct thorough inspections and maintain compliance, reducing the risk of violations or accidents. Communication skills are essential for coordinating with dispatch and plant personnel to adapt to scheduling changes and resolve logistical challenges. Familiarity with GPS and electronic logging devices enhances route planning and accurate record-keeping. Additionally, problem-solving abilities help the driver manage unforeseen circumstances such as traffic delays or mechanical issues, maintaining operational continuity.
