Description JOB TITLE: K-5 Facilitator
REPORTS TO: WorldOver International Program Coordinator
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
SALARY RANGE: $25-$31.00 per hour
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Online Elementary Facilitator/Teacher to provide direct instruction and academic support in a virtual learning environment. Facilitators engage with learners through live online sessions using Google Meet and Google Classroom.
In this role, the Facilitator will communicate effectively with learners both verbally and visually, utilizing digital tools such as an interactive whiteboard. They will guide students through projects and standards-based tasks, reinforce foundational skills, and share resources securely. The Facilitator also supports learners in developing test-taking strategies, note-taking techniques, and critical thinking skills to strengthen academic performance.
Facilitators are not only responsible for clarifying concepts and extending classroom learning, but also for fostering deeper understanding across core and specialized subject areas. By creating an engaging, supportive, and interactive online environment, the Facilitator helps learners build confidence, achieve academic success, and develop lifelong learning skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitate courses on a weekly basis and prepare age-appropriate assignments as needed, incorporating project-based learning, to ensure the understanding and completion of coursework that meets all necessary standards.
- Be prepared and on time, provide support, and diversify learning opportunities to ensure all learners are engaged in the content with a high degree of understanding and comprehension.
- Have a reliable internet connection, a working camera/microphone, and maintain a Google Meet environment free of distractions.
- Provide learners with feedback, rubrics, and progress reports as they complete coursework and assignments.
- If you encounter a behavior issue and require support, please engage WorldOver administration promptly.
- Be proactive in maintaining a consistent schedule and providing advance notice for cancellations, among other things.
- Answer learners' questions related to the course content.
- Resolve technical or connectivity issues.
- Reply to learners' messages.
- Utilize email, discussion forums, audio, and video conferencing to facilitate communication with learners.
- Maintain required records utilizing Google Classroom, Little SIS, or any systems as directed by the administrator.
- Host facilitator sessions as scheduled via Google Meet.
- Recognizes the relationship between social-emotional learning and academic performance and shows an ability to teach the "whole child."
- Administer pre- and post-academic assessments and skills tests to new assigned learners, review and provide feedback to both the learner and parents as needed.
- Proficient in applying MTSS techniques to advance learners' progress and skills in an efficient and relevant manner.
- Provide excellent parent updates and progress reports, working closely with the learner support team to ensure the best academic outcomes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Communicate with others to exchange information promptly, within 24 hours, if possible (by Telephone/Email/Google Meet)
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
- Adjusting or moving objects up to 30 pounds in all directions.
- Ability to work in situations involving the need to make informed and quick decisions.
- Writing professionally both by hand and utilizing computer software.
- Dealing and navigating professionally through high-stress situations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor's degree and a teaching credential are required, with a minimum of three years of experience in the assigned grade(s).
- DOJ Live Scan Clearance may be required, at the cost of the applicant.
- Experience assessing the progress of assigned learners to ensure effective processes.
- Passion and excitement for the subject being taught.
- Education in teaching methodology, theory, and processes.
- Theoretical and practical understanding of the subject to be taught..
- Patient, flexible, positive, consistent, dependable, and cooperative with a sense of humor.
