Summary/Objective:

The Underground Electric (UGE) Foreman leads crews in the construction, maintenance, and repair of underground electrical distribution systems across the DFW area. This position is responsible for crew leadership, jobsite safety, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within specifications, and to Venus Construction’s quality standards. The UGE Foreman must possess strong technical knowledge of underground electrical systems and the ability to coordinate work efficiently with other departments and field personnel.

• Lead and supervise crews performing underground electrical distribution construction, maintenance, and repair from plant or station to meter base.
• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to ensure accurate and efficient project execution.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily crew activities including trenching, conduit placement, cable installation, splicing, and terminations.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and company procedures.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks and weekly safety inspections; communicate safety expectations and ensure crew compliance.
• Perform or direct switching, isolation, splicing, terminating, phasing, and marking/tagging of underground power lines and equipment.
• Manage installation, connection, disconnection, and relocation of transformers, regulators, switches, and related electrical devices.
• Operate or oversee the safe operation of heavy equipment such as excavators, trenchers, and reel trailers.
• Drive and haul equipment and materials to and from job sites as required.
• Maintain accurate daily records of work performed, materials used, and equipment operated.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members to ensure proper technique, efficiency, and adherence to company standards.
• Communicate effectively with superintendents, project managers, and other departments to coordinate schedules, resolve issues, and maintain productivity.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in underground electrical distribution construction or related field required.
• Proven leadership and supervisory experience with the ability to direct, train, and motivate crews.
• Strong knowledge of underground electrical construction methods, materials, and safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and project plans.
• Skilled in splicing, terminating, phasing, and installation of underground electrical systems and components.
• Must be dependable, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Class A CDL required.
