Job Description
Core responsibilities
Route planning:
Determining the most efficient routes while considering factors like distance, fuel costs, and delivery locations.
Communication:
Acting as a liaison between drivers, customers, and other personnel via phone, email, or software.
Shipment tracking:
Monitoring the progress of trucks and shipments in real-time, and providing updates to customers.
Problem-solving:
Addressing and resolving any issues that occur during transit, such as delays or mechanical problems, and finding alternative solutions.
Record-keeping:
Maintaining detailed and accurate records of shipments, routes, hours, and other relevant data.
Compliance:
Ensuring that drivers and operations comply with all relevant safety regulations and laws.
Required skills
Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with drivers, customers, and other staff.
Multitasking and organization:
The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and stay organized is critical for a busy dispatch environment.
Problem-solving:

Computer proficiency:
Familiarity with dispatch and tracking software is necessary for managing daily operations.
