Position Overview\n

This position involves the effective screening, evaluation, and rehabilitation of patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders. The chosen candidate will develop appropriate plans of care in accordance with all regulatory and clinical practice standards.

\n\nKey Responsibilities\n

  • Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions.
  • \n
  • Assess patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly, ensuring documentation in compliance with regulatory and clinical requirements.
  • \n
  • Evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness and modify services based on patient evaluations.
  • \n
  • Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to speech disorders.
  • \n
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans.
  • \n
  • Prepare comprehensive discharge summaries of services provided in line with regulatory and clinical requirements.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records in the electronic documentation system, adhering to company policies.
  • \n
  • Record treatment minutes for services accurately according to regulatory and clinical standards.
  • \n
  • Participate in required meetings, including patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings.
  • \n
  • Engage in necessary training sessions, in-services, and conferences required by the facility and company.
  • \n
  • Oversee and support Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or Student Speech-Language Pathologists as needed.
  • \n
  • Adhere to ASHA standards and state-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics during professional practice.

\n\nPosition Details\n

This is a full-time position with an 8-hour shift, Monday through Friday. Times are flexible as long as they are consistent and communicated with the Director of Rehabilitation.

\n\nQualifications\n
    \n
  • 1 year of speech-language pathology experience
  • \n
  • Experience in long-term care or rehabilitation settings
  • \n
  • Active state licensure in Missouri
  • \n
  • Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • \n
  • New graduates are welcome, provided they have Level II experience rather than just observational experience
  • \n
