We think we could use your help. Soccer Shots Baltimore/Washington (serving schools & families spanning from Hartford County, MD to Prince William County, VA) is seeking a dedicated and engaging
Training Manager to empower our team of Soccer Shots Coaches with exceptional training and ongoing support throughout their coaching journey.
Our coaches are at the center of what we do, and we take their commitment to creating positive learning experiences for kids seriously. The
Training Manager not only equips newly hired coaches for success, but also oversees coach development, conducts evaluations, and designs programs that continuously elevate the quality of our sessions. Training Manager Responsibilities include: - Coach Training & Orientation
- Develop and manage Soccer Shots Coach orientation/training processes to improve quality while maintaining compliance.
- Develop and update training materials, timelines and requirements based on business needs
- Lead new coach trainings, adapting as needed to ensure all learning goals are met for each new coach, and certify completion.
- Coordinate with other departments to schedule and staff training events and preparing/training trainers as needed.
- Set and uphold high standards for coaching quality and support throughout orientation.
- Analyze Net Promoter Scores and use insights to improve training effectiveness and outcomes.
- Coach Evaluations & Retraining Programs
- Conduct on-field Coaching Evaluations on all coaches, once per season (4 times per year)
- Identify needs and goals for re-training, and develop and execute retraining programs for underperforming coaches
- Management & Communication
- Supervise/mentor new coaches during orientation/training
- Supervise/mentor coaches undergoing re-training
- Ensure new hire compliance with HR department (e.g., background checks, forms documentation)
- Maintain up-to-date training calendars, scorecards and tracking systems
- Collaborate with Coaching Department and Coaching Managers
- Oversee coach equipment and gear distribution/collection.
We're looking for hard-working, team-players with: - At least 3 years experience in team/volunteer management and/or training
- A passion for kids, youth enrichment and the Soccer Shots vision!
- The ability to model and teach coaching best-practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Responsive, reliable and professional communication
- A customer service, people-first mentality
- Strong critical thinking, analysis, and process improvement.
- Great attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills and ability to juggle multiple projects
- A growth mindset open to feedback and willing to improve
- Safety-oriented
- Availability Monday Friday, 8:30 AM 5 PM, with occasional weekday evenings or weekend on-call shifts
- Ability to travel throughout DC/MD/VA area
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time, crouch, stoop and run as needed.
