Job Description

A Special Education Teacher position is available at a K-12 school in Irmo, SC, for the current school year on a contract basis. This role involves providing tailored instructional support and interventions to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they have access to a comprehensive education in an inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to address students academic and behavioral needs.
• Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies to support students across various grade levels.
• Monitor and document student progress, adapting instruction and interventions as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education required.
• Experience working with K-12 students with disabilities preferred.
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Ability to create engaging, differentiated lessons that accommodate diverse learning styles.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with students, families, and faculty.
