Overview Auria is looking for a Software/Test Engineer to support the development, integration, and testing of secure, cloud-hosted ground systems. This role spans the full software development lifecycle, including requirements, design, coding, test automation, and deployment, with a strong focus on validating interfaces and system integration in a multi-vendor environment. The engineer will contribute to building and testing mission planning, scheduling, and command-and-control software, supporting demonstrations and reviews with Government stakeholders. This is a remote position with a preference to be located in Colorado Springs, CO, or Huntsville, AL. What you can expect to do Participate in all phases of the software lifecycle, requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and sustainment. Develop software components and automated testing frameworks using Python, Java, and C++. Develop and execute automated test plans, regression suites, and performance tests to validate ground system functions. Experience with automated test frameworks and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab). Execute integration testing in cloud-native, containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS GovCloud/Azure Gov). Configure and validate APIs, ICD, and scheduling services to ensure ground system interoperability. Support system demonstrations, rehearsals, and Gate reviews, providing technical expertise and reporting. Collaborate with customers, cross-vendor teams, and Government stakeholders to ensure interoperability. Document design, test procedures, and results in accordance with program standards. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. Preferred 5+ years of experience in software development and test engineering. Proficiency in object-oriented programming, Python, Java (including Java/J2ME), C++ and databases (SQL, Relational Database Design, Access). Experience with automated test frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins). Strong experience in full software development life cycle. Effective communication and documentation skills. U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. What the team prefers Experience in aerospace, defense, or ground system software development. Familiar with mission planning, scheduling, or command-and-control software. Exposure to tools like STK, Cesium, or simulation frameworks for test support. Experience supporting system demonstrations, rehearsals, or customer test events. Understanding of cyber compliance testing (STIGs, RMF). Strong communication skills and ability to engage with customers and technical teams. Pay transparency The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level. $120,000 - $160,000.
