Software QA Engineer

Position Summary: 

As a Software QA Engineer at Nortek Air Solutions, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software applications and systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute test plans, identify defects, and drive continuous improvement in our software development processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality software.

Position Responsibilities: 

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure the quality of software applications and systems. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define quality requirements and specifications. 
• Perform functional, regression, and performance testing to identify defects and ensure software reliability. 
• Document and track defects, and work with development teams to resolve them. 
• Analyze test results and provide recommendations for software improvements. 
• Participate in design reviews and provide input on software quality and usability. 
• Conduct root cause analysis for software issues and implement corrective actions. 
• Develop and maintain quality assurance documentation, including test plans, procedures, and reports. 
• Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and technologies related to software quality assurance. 

Position Requirements: 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
• Experience in software quality assurance or software testing. 
• Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and best practices. 
• Familiarity with testing tools and techniques. 
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. 
• Strong communication and collaboration skills. 
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment. 

Preferred Requirements: 

Experience in the HVAC industry or related fields. 

Knowledge of Agile development methodologies. 

Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks. 

Certification in software quality assurance (e.g., ISTQB).
