Title: Software Engineer (Python/Django)

Company/Role Overview:

We’re partnered with a Series A biotech startup based in San Francisco that’s working at the cutting edge of lab automation and data integration. This team is building tools that help scientists move faster and more efficiently—bridging software and biology in a real, tangible way. They’re looking for a Software Engineer with strong experience in Python and Django to support ongoing development efforts, primarily focused on integrating third-party Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).

You’ll be joining a lean, collaborative team where you’ll play a key role in implementing and supporting medium-sized features within already-established data pipelines. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment while working closely with scientists and product stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain integrations with external LIMS platforms and internal lab tools
• Design, implement, and support features in existing backend pipelines
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including scientists, data engineers, and product managers
• Write clean, scalable, and well-tested code using Python and Django
• Contribute to architecture and design discussions around lab and health data systems

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong programming skills in Python and extensive experience with Django
• Experience building RESTful APIs and working with relational databases
• Familiarity with integrating third-party platforms and managing external dependencies
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Nice to have: experience in health tech, biotech, or working with laboratory or clinical data
