Senior Federal Travel Advisor (Contract Contingent)

Job Description

Engages with the Project Team and Client Team to take ownership of assigned program goals and insure excellent execution

Provide support on a real-time basis to Federal AGENCY travel management, other staff and users and provide assistance in responding to questions related to AGENCY specific policies, standards in logging incidents, and questions related to the use of various technical tools related to E2 Solutions. Services to be provided include but not limited to the following:

a. Provide technical guidance and advice on specific travel regulations, pronouncements, rulings, etc., in order to support the AGENCY Travel Office in the day-to-day management of travel operations and procedures

b. Conduct thorough analysis to determine cause and possible alternatives for complex travel related issues.

c. Work closely with AGENCY travel team members to support staff, and AGENCY travelers to better understand recurring technical issues.

d. Work on-site with AGENCY Travel Manager and staff to support AGENCY managers, users, travel approvers and IBC system administrators.

e. Provide time sensitive over the shoulder support to AGENCY VIPs, EAs and users.

f. Coordinate with team lead to develop and conduct topical training sessions for AGENCY travelers, travel arrangers, and travel approvers

g. Provide feedback to team lead to support and assist in managing relationship with IBC Tier 1 Help Desk and IBC travel management staff

h. Review and Process requests for Country specific visa issuance

i. Review and Process requests for US Government passport applications

j. Provide Policy interpretation of Federal Travel Regulations

k. Assist Travel Card Administration (A/OPC) with day-to-day administrative functions

Qualifications

a. Demonstrated knowledge of Federal travel management, and related accounting and budgetary business processes, a minimum of three years of direct experience is required

b. Demonstrated professional oral and written communications skills, including the ability to prepare technical documents that present information clearly, concisely, and in an easily understood format appropriate for the intended audience.

c. A minimum of three years of experience as a financial consultant, accountant or auditor or travel administration involving supporting and working with the federal governmental travel systems (prefer Agency international travel environment experience )

d. Familiarity with and understanding of Federal financial accounting standards and the U.S. Standard General Ledger (USSGL) as they apply to international travel for Federal Agencies

e. Bachelor degree in accounting, business administration or relevant discipline is mandatory;

f. Demonstrated Working Knowledge of the Federal policies relating to Federal International travel

g. Demonstrated ability to communicate at various levels and work with a diverse groups of people and multiple stakeholders, internal and external

h. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and support the leadership and team member

Preferred knowledge, skills and abilities:

a. Experience with foreign development assistance.

b. CPA and/or advanced degree in finance or accounting are strongly preferred.

c. Advanced degree in accounting, business administration or relevant discipline.

d. Demonstrated familiarity with international development programs.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Business Tools understanding and proficiency with business tools and technology, including Microsoft Office. The ideal candidate is advanced with Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word, and proficient with Adobe Acrobat, data analytic tools, and Visio with the ability to quickly learn other tools as necessary.
