The person we're looking for: PUBG Studios' Madison, WI office is seeking a Senior Concept Artist to take on a high impact role on our Madison Team.
A Senior Concept Artist creates visual designs and illustrations in collaboration with the Art director. Their work guides and inspires the creators of game content during pre-production and drives execution during project production.
Responsibilities - Collaborate with the art director, art leads and other stakeholders to illustrate beautiful, immersive, visually distinctive worlds.
- Generate varied concepts for environments, characters, props, weapons, vehicles, storyboards, VFX, UI elements, and more!
- Create detailed turn-around drawings for 3d modelers.
- Actively seek and incorporate stakeholder feedback.
- Provide feedback such as paintovers to internal and external artists.
- Proactively develop visual solutions to gameplay and player experience problems.
- Research and collect references to enhance the style of the game.
- Foster an inclusive and respectful culture of critique.
A Typical Day May Include: - Create new and unique visual 2D artwork for the project.
- Research reference material in support of idea generation and problem solving.
- Solve visual communication problems for in-game and cinematic artists.
- Participate in planning, playtest and other team activities.
Qualifications - 5-8+ years' experience creating Concept Art for AAA games.
- A portfolio of illustration, concept and storyboard art demonstrating an eye for perspective, color, lighting, mood and composition.
- Ability to describe form, shape, silhouette, scale and surface materials.
- Demonstrate communication skills and teamwork-oriented attitude.
- Proficiency with industry standard 2D DCC tools such as Photoshop.
- Knowledge of 3D software and/ or Unreal is a bonus.
- Love of games as a medium.
- Candidates must be located in the United States for this role
