Job Description

A part-time Counselor position is available to support K-12 students in a school setting located in the Americus area, with consideration given to candidates from surrounding locations including Cordele, GA. This role serves a caseload of approximately 30 students and offers a contract through the upcoming school year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to K-12 students to support academic, social, and emotional development
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to identify student needs and develop appropriate intervention plans
• Assist students with goal setting, coping strategies, and decision-making skills
• Maintain confidential documentation and participate in student support meetings
• Monitor student progress and adjust counseling approaches as needed

Qualifications:

• Experience working as a Counselor or Guidance Counselor in a K-12 school environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and families
• Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 30 students with diverse needs
• Familiarity with developmental stages and challenges of children and adolescents
• Commitment to creating a positive and supportive educational atmosphere

Work Schedule and Location:

• Part-time position offering approximately 20 hours per week
