Job Title: Pathologist Assistant

Location(s): Los Angeles, CA

Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Pathologist Assistant (PA) to join a leading Anatomic Pathology team in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of hands-on experience, strong grossing skills, and eligibility or certification as PA (ASCP).
Under the supervision of the Chief of Anatomic Pathology and/or Director of Operations, you will perform gross dissection, photography, frozen section assistance, and may also contribute to departmental administration, research protocols, teaching, and budgeting efforts.
Key Responsibilities:

• Perform gross description, dissection, and examination of surgical specimens.
• Assist with intraoperative consultations (e.g., frozen sections).
• Photograph specimens when appropriate.
• Collaborate with pathology staff to maintain workflow and turnaround time.
• Ensure accurate documentation and protocol adherence.
• Contribute to quality improvement and safety initiatives.
• May assist in teaching pathology residents, fellows, or lab personnel.
• May support administrative functions, including maintaining SOPs, reports, and budget documents.

Required Qualifications:

Experience:

• Minimum 1+ year as a Pathologist Assistant

Certification:

• PA(ASCP) certified.

OR

• Eligible for PA(ASCP) certification and must obtain certification within 12 months of hire.

Education:

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists' Assistant Program.
