Responsibilities The Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner will report to the Dignity Health Cancer Institute administrator and collaborate with a team of oncology Physicians and advanced practice providers. This nurse practitioner will primarily have responsibility for the adult outpatient Oncology and Hematology patient population at Dignity Health Cancer Institute and St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Additional opportunities for rotating between inpatient and outpatient Hematology/Oncology patient care will be required. This position offers the opportunity to be involved in every aspect of cancer care including initial diagnosis, treatment, management of complications/acute medical issues, and palliative care. Responsibilities include complete/comprehensive history and physical examination, ordering and interpretation of diagnostic studies, symptom management and prescribing appropriate treatments in collaboration with the attending physician. Other responsibilities include consultation with specialist physicians and other team members regarding findings/changes in patient condition.
