This position is based in the Aetna Corporate Headquarters and will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair and testing of a wide range of electrical or mechanical equipment. This position will assure safe workplace practices are followed at all times and drive safety awareness through leading by example. This includes predictive, preventive and proactive maintenance analysis. This individual must work to all codes and regulations while making equipment installations, adjustments and repairs in plant and office environments as well as assist outside contractors on major projects. This position requires a broad working knowledge of codes pertaining to your specific trade. Duties and responsibilities include: Possess a fundamental understanding of HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing systems; Perform preventative maintenance, primarily on HVAC equipment as assigned; Respond to multi-trade work orders promptly; Support and monitor contractor work, including monthly kitchen hood cleaning; Support 2nd shift Cleaning operation, Security operation, and after-hours events; Assemble, install, test, and maintain equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures; Diagnose malfunctioning systems and correct problems; Inspect equipment for hazards, defects, and compliance; Advise management on equipment safety; Test electrical systems and continuity; Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and ordering supplies; Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs; Provide assistance during emergencies; Respond and troubleshoot equipment problems; Improve plant/equipment reliability; Participate in Failure Analysis and Vulnerability studies; Assist in maintaining life safety systems; Execute equipment maintenance strategies; Ensure compliance with federal and state codes; Maintain professional knowledge through education; Be available during emergency situations; Perform routine and preventive maintenance; Other duties as assigned. Required qualifications include 3+ years of experience in operations and maintenance of large commercial electrical or mechanical systems. Preferred qualifications include active HVAC or Electrical trades license, strong communication and organizational skills, awareness of operational safety requirements, and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. Education required is High School Diploma or GED.
