Position Overview

We’re seeking a talented and motivated interior designer to join our team part-time, with potential to grow into a full-time role. This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about creating beautiful, livable spaces from concept through installation.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design process from initial concept to final install
Create client presentations using moodboards, floor plans, and curated vendor selections
Source furnishings and materials within budget and timeline constraints
Understand product specifications, care requirements, and applications
Collaborate with clients to translate their goals into actionable design solutions
Maintain a positive, professional presence in all client and vendor interactions

Requirements

Proficiency in CAD, SketchUp, and Canva (or similar) for planning and presentations
Strong knowledge of furnishings, finishes, and materials, including FF&E documentation
Experience taking site measurements, reviewing floor plans, and preparing spec sheets
Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills
Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
Comfortable with site visits, installations, and in-person meetings as needed
Minimum 2 years of experience in residential interior design
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field preferred
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, DesignFiles, or Studio Designer is a plus
Must be local to Northern New Jersey or able to travel to job sites as required

Compensation & Schedule

$25–$30 per hour, based on experience
~20 hours per week, with potential to grow into a full-time role within 6 months
Currently remote; studio space opening in Millburn, NJ in August
