Overview Why consider this job opportunity: Estimated pay range of $28.98 - $37.67 per hour, depending on experience Opportunity for career advancement and growth within the organization Work with a leading not-for-profit healthcare organization recognized for excellence Supportive and collaborative work environment focused on personal connections Chance to contribute to meaningful patient care and make a positive impact on the community What to Expect (Job Responsibilities) Accurately code inpatient records for the classification of all diseases, injuries, procedures, and operations using the ICD10CM/PCS coding system Ensure compliance with coding rules and regulations according to regulatory agencies (CMS, OIG) Collaborate with team members to meet departmental and accounts receivable goals Abstract prescribed data elements from medical records Maintain thorough knowledge of encoder systems, IPPS, and relevant policies What is Required (Qualifications) Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent training/experience AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist or AHIMA Registered Health Information Technician certification Required coding certificate; must obtain CCS or RHIT certification within 2 years if not certified upon hire Minimum of 3 years of experience in inpatient facility coding Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications) Additional certifications such as CCA, CPC, COC, RHIT, or RHIA Knowledge of Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) and National and Local Coverage Determinations (NCD and LCD) Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with coworkers, management, and physicians #HealthcareServices #CodingSpecialist #CareerOpportunity #CompetitivePay #PatientCare We prioritize candidate privacy and champion equal-opportunity employment.
