Job Title: Histology Technician (ASCP-HT)
Location: Minneapolis, MN 55407
Contract Duration: 18 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift | Sunday–Thursday
Schedule: 5 × 8-hour shifts | 8:30 PM – 5:00 AM
Pay Rate: $40–$47 per hour
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Histology Technician (ASCP-HT) to join a high-volume histology laboratory on the night shift. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise in embedding and microtomy and be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced acute care laboratory environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform tissue processing, embedding, and microtomy with accuracy and efficiency
Prepare and section tissue samples using automated and manual microtomes and cryostats
Embed a wide range of specimen types, including GI, skin, large and small specimens, fatty, and hard tissues
Prepare paraffin wax sections and perform precision microtomy
Prepare slides for staining, including Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E)
Ensure proper labeling, handling, and processing of all histology specimens
Accurately document procedures and results using EPIC/Excellian systems
Maintain compliance with laboratory quality control, safety standards, and protocols
Work independently during night shift operations
ASCP Histotechnician (HT) certification required
Minimum 2 years of recent histology experience
Proven expertise in embedding and microtomy in a high-volume laboratory
Epic EMR experience required
Pending state license accepted
First-time travelers not accepted
Local candidates within a 100-mile radius not accepted
Ability to work independently on night shift
