The Opportunity:

Join a passionate team supporting best practices in Agile Software Development for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). You will serve as an Agile Scrum team member, providing software development and maintenance for short sprint cycles. Responsibilities include delivering software solutions in collaboration with developers, stakeholders, and end users within Agile processes.

Responsibilities:

• Support the DHS Customs and Border Protection with the Enterprise Geospatial Information Services (eGIS) System, a web application providing geospatial services using ESRI ArcGIS Server, Microsoft SQLServer, and Oracle databases.
• Design, develop, and implement custom software and database applications for legacy and modern systems with minimal oversight.
• Collaborate within a product team, supporting teammates and ensuring product success.
• Enhance supported products and participate in release and sprint planning, testing, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
• Assist in release planning, software design, and development guidelines.
• Analyze complex problems and create innovative solutions involving scheduling, technology, and tools.
• Ensure product quality, meet deadlines, and provide performance reports.
• Mentor junior team members.

Qualifications:

Required:

• U.S. Citizenship and ability to pass CBP background investigation (including checks for felony convictions, illegal drug use, misconduct).
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of relevant technical experience in software design, development, and implementation in Windows environments.
• Local to Ashburn, VA, and available for hybrid work.

• Experience with Java, Angular, Windows development, and database queries in SQLServer and Oracle.
• Knowledge of Java frameworks (Hibernate, JAX-RS), web technologies, source control (Git), and database design.
• Understanding of OODD, SOA, and SDLC processes.
• Familiarity with ESRI and ArcGIS.

Desired:

• Certifications like OCAJP, OCPJP, OCE, OCM, CSM, DOD 8570.
• Experience with Oracle tools, HTML, Spring, VMware, ETL, ESB, message queuing, security, automated testing, UML, Jira, or Sparx EA.

Pay Range: $94,400 - $198,300, based on various factors including experience, location, and certifications. We offer comprehensive benefits supporting health, wellness, retirement, education, and work-life balance.
