The Educational Development Group, Inc, an adult ESOL program whose mission is to prepare new immigrants for success in American society by providing them with the language skills and cultural awareness to access educational and employment opportunities. We are looking for a part-time English as a Second Language teacher for a nine-hour morning English class. We are looking for a teacher who is flexible and who is willing to adapt to EDG's teaching methods. (There will be a learning curve)
The teacher will be paid for 9 hours of teaching and 6 hours of preparation. The hourly rate is between $24 and $27 based on experience. Minimum requirements:
Bachelor's Degree
Knowledge of second language acquisition theories and linguistics and their practical applications to language teaching
Previous ESOL or tutoring experience with adult immigrants
Willingness and ability to travel to Boston to teach
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Willingness to commit to EDG's mission
